Winter Evening Programme - Edward Cawood "From Wall to Floor - experiments in photo-objects"

Combining lens and text based practices to create transformative photo- and textual- objects, my work explores themes of labour, value and spatial histories.

For 4 years, I have been using cyanotype on ceramic tile in a study of the defunct East Lothian industrial powerhouse, Prestongrange. Now, at a crossroads in my practice after moving 400 miles south, I have been experimenting with Jesmonite to create monocolour photo-objects that exist in space.

I graduated from Edinburgh College of Art, The University of Edinburgh, in 2024 with a BA(Hons) in Photography. My home-base is in Stirling, though I currently work full-time as a Junior Photographer at Tate Britain.
